Palin's Idiots in the Parking Lot

Check out this video of Palin supporters in the parking lot.
The video is cut to make them seem like a bunch of yahoos and crackers, or perhaps it’s not cut much at all and that’s what they sound like. Not one of them answers a question with any specificity or intelligence. “I don’t know.” “I’m not sure.” “I’m an American.” “Where you going with that?” “That state she governed is across the street from Russia.” You could conclude that Palin supporters are crackpots or you could conclude that this is how charisma works—people can’t really put words or substance to it but they damned sure like what they see.

Too Funny

You rattled off three things that he has YET to do. Good job! Unfortunatly ALMOST accomplishments don't count, unless you are the Noble Committee. Your notion that a debate about Obama and his accomplishments should really not seen as a source of strength for you now...maybe later, but not now. I don't think I will be put under the table any time soon.
Plus, this wasn't about who can or cannot be resourceful in looking up info on our Pres. Rather, this was about impromptu interviews done with people on the street. Stop your favorite button wearing, bumper sticker having Obama fan and ask them about him, maybe he (or she) would sound like these people.
I guess all people aren't as informed as you:

Yeah, I voted Obama, and I _can_ tell you what he's done or, at the very least, attempted to:
He ordered Gitmo closed (prospects are now next year, given the yahoos complaining);
he's pushed healthcare reform with a public option (currently meeting with Repubs on the fence to help it pass in the Senate);
he's going to make an announcement, likely next Tuesday, on his decision with Afghanistan (he's met with the generals and advisors as recently as last night to make his decision);
he signed the Ledbetter legislation into law...
I'm sure I could go on, but you hopefully get the point: Obama is not just a pretty face, but a real politician with a real agenda, and being charismatic only helps his cause.
But make no mistake: Obama supporters, whom I'm sure you've not actually spoken to, _do_ know the issues, and I'd gladly debate you under a table on them.
I'm not sure Palin could do the same without mentioning moose-hunting but it'd sure be entertaining.
Looks and gender, so what?

And if Barrack Obamas name was Paul Murphy and he was an Irish Catholic, nobody would know who he was. The fact is that the looks and roles play an important part in portraying a story. One year after the election, Obamas supporters still know nothing about what Obama has actually done (or more aptly not done). Hope, Change and the fact he isn't Bush still matters to the button wearing, bumpers sticker having crowd that knows nothing except the button looks good with or without a scarf.
The thing about Palin is...

if she were an unattractive or ordinary looking woman no one would know her name.
Ironically, she's every bit the Paris Hilton-esque empty political celebrity that the McCain campaign tried to accuse Obama of being during the campaign. Palin acts like being educated and informed is a character flaw and that being shallow and self-righteous is a virtue.
Actually most Americans tend

Actually most Americans tend to look like idiots when asked questions about politics and political candidates. Like patroon002 said, Obama's supporters sure didn't sound any more knowledgeable when questioned during the election. Americans from both the left and right are pretty clueless when it comes to politics, and tend to blindly follow "charismatic" leaders, whether they are Sarah Palin or Obama.
Hate to tell you...

Thats what Obama supporters looked like all election long... they said nothing specific. "errr change, Hope" "Uh I just want change, Im tired of the way things are." What do you want to change? "I want to be hopeful again." What policy changes? "Ummm no more Bush" Sorry, its just the way people are, Obama supporters acted the same way, its cute that your so bias though that you only notice it in your foes... your such a cute little republican in training yes you are! Funny how similar democrats are to republicans! Pretty much the same people, support wars, when it is their presidents war, support torture when its their presidents torture. Mock the opposition for lacking substance, when they supported the same thing. Its so cute watching the birth of the next GOP, Jackass style, your just like the republicans you hate, its great, I love it!
