Are Americans Really Sick of Palin?

I'm suspicious of this new poll showing that Americans are tired of hearing about Palin, and that they follow the health care debate more closely than they follow the news about her. This is a classic in the category of virtuous self reporting, along with studies about diet and exercise. In the study, only 3 percent of Democrats say they paid attention to coverage of Palin's book tour. But there are two big problems with that statistic. One, paying attention to news about Palin's book tour is not the same as paying attention to news about her. People may not even know she has written a book but, as any web site editor can tell you, they will read any story with Palin or Angelina Jolie in the headline. Second, if I asked you to rank your preference about stories on celebrities, child horror or health care, what would you say?

I can guarantee you that these folks love Sarah Palin.

With Palins assistance, the GOP has turned into just a fringe-nut group of uneducated white people SEETHING about this negro in the White House and willing to support any dim-bulb that rolls in on the turnip wagon who resembles them in the least.
So far we’ve had:
The GOP county leader gal who sent out the “Obama Bucks” watermelon-chicken food stamps,
The Southern California suburban Republican mayor who sent out the White House-watermelon garden email,
The Florida state committee-woman GOP gal who sent out that “So how did black people travel in airplanes to Obama’s inauguration when they couldn’t get out of New Orleans during Katrina?” email comedy,
The Republican mayor in South Carolina forwarding his “just out of curiosity” musings about the Muslim Barack Obama being maybe a character in the Bible (the Devil, in fact),
and
The Republican mayor of some Georgia town typing a hilarious Facebook status message suggesting Barack Obama should give the Queen of England some typical black-person snacks such as cigarettes and malt liquor.

It was the media that elevated her to her current status, putting her face on every website for months on end. Ironically, Huffington Post shows her face almost everyday, often in flattering images, and then uses sensational headlines to accentuate her, or ridicule her.
She is a product of their own making, so its no surprise that people are interested in her. She is in Orlando FL the past 2 days and I almost went down just to see the spectacle- the circus. Really, the media is propagating her in anticipation of the 2012 presidential election and the massive billion dollar payout it will bring. They are farming, planting the seeds, watering them daily, expecting a big cash crop.
Tired of Palin

I can't speak for everyone but I am sure as hell tired of hearing anything whatsoever about Palin. It's completely pointless drivel and I am much more concerned with things that actually effect our nation. Such as the health care debate.
Our economy is still in the toilet, partisanship is stopping important decisions from being made, millions of Americans are uninsured, the war in Afghanistan is still heated, terrorism is not dead, and we have not curbed carbon emissions. Until all these issues are past we shouldn't waste any of our time pondering a book signing by a ditz like Palin.
Who by the way is no longer a Governor if you guys haven't noticed. My only guess as to why she got so much attention is because of her comedic value and as an example of what NOT to do.
Comedy sells

I can't speak for every woman who dislikes Palin...but, I am grateful for her existence, let me explain.
To me she represents a sarcastic reflection of what not to do...in short it's comedy. I love the parodies by Tina Fey!
Women like Sarah Palin remind us not to take our selves to seriously....These days, I need something funny along with all the heartache and hardship we see.
Secondly, you asked to rank my preference on stories about celebrities, child horrors and health care.... (sigh) can't rank'em but here's my random thoughts....
Celebrities...quick fantasy of what we could do if we were....famous,wealthy??
Child Horrors....quick nightmare of what we don't want to happen to our family.
Health Care....a mixture of both fantasy and nightmare....
For myself...

I read every story with Hanna Rosin in the byline. Can your website editor tell you that??
